Illumina Reproductive and Genetic Health Lunch Symposium

Next generation sequencing (NGS) is opening new doors in Reproductive and Genetic Health and is providing fresh insight into our approach to IVF. Preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) has been demonstrated to improve IVF success rates by selecting the most viable embryos for transfer and implantation.

We are proud to have invited Dr. Ali Hellani from Fakih IVF, U.A.E, to share his experience of the adoption of PGS in clinical practice. Among the speakers of the symposium were also Kathryn Gebhardt (Illumina IVF Specialist) and Jake Massa (certified genetic counselor from Illumina), discussing PGS technology and counseling considerations for PGS and PGD.

The VeriSeq PGS Kit utilizes the next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology to provide comprehensive and accurate screening of all 24 chromosomes for selection of euploid embryos. PGS results generated using VeriSeq PGS are comparable to those achieved with the widely used array-based 24sure technology. NGS offers the opportunity for improved assay workflow, higher throughput, and enhanced performance.
